A pot because of its emptiness is useful
The empty space in the wall makes a window
In an empty mind the wisdom shall flow.


Spokes of a wheel converge on a hole
The emptiness in goal post makes a goal
The hollow centre of wheel that makes it turn
With an empty mind it is easier to learn.


An empty mind is much easier to train
Like a dry soil soaks all the drops of rain
Create space in the mind with meditation

It is the empty space that makes a thing useful. The hollowness in a bamboo makes a flute. The hollowness of a vase makes it useful. Knowledge like river flows towards low lying empty spaces, similarly wisdom from god flows into empty uncluttered minds. Children learn new technologies much faster than us as their minds are empty and starving to soak knowledge.
