My Body is a cloth dipped in the name of Lord- Saint Kabir



I wore this shawl and came to earth
My body of five elements took birth.


Lord took nine months to weave
It was made to wear and leave.


Tightly did he overlay the thread
He then dipped it with the colour red.


My shawl shall be bruised and tattered
With waves of time it would be battered


With my worldly sins it shall stink
Of smoke drugs and alcoholic drink.

But Kabir gave back when he went
The shawl original and with a holy scent- Vasant Khisty



Poet Kabir imagines the body like a shawl weaved with five different threads.Most spoil it with their bad deeds and habits but the holy person leaves his body un changed in spiritual form.
