I have never started a poem yet whose end I knew. Writing a poem is discovering.

The last days of this year
Brought a flood of tear
Some will drown in liquor
Some will float  in fear

Parents of dead children
Will still hear their cries
The splashing of the blood
And tearful good byes

This midnight too shall pass
We await the dawn of new year
Hope God wakes from his hangover
And the future is without fear

Friends as you celebrate
Step  out with some care
Just protect your self

Every year this day comes where we welcome the new year as we welcome a new born baby, hoping it will cher us with its smile and little pranks. Yes we need to forget the past and move on with a resolution that we will make this world a better place with each passing year.
